Ok

We are doing okay.  Friday was a very hard day, but we got to see two of our Grands Thursday night and Friday and one great Grand on Friday afternoon to cuddle close…although when I twisted a bit eagle eye Jen scooped up the baby because I am not supposed to twist.

Pain is being managed and ice bags are the best! They calm and cool everything down in my back.

Random photo from my I pad.

Bleeding Hearts outside the front door.  Sadie is being such a good girl, I tell her “touch” and she touches my hand to be petted. When we first arrived she was very excited but has calmed down nicely. She is a good comfort for me.

I shall be back when able.

  6. Scientists have proved that petting dogs is good for our health. Keep up the good healing work!! And snuggle that baby when possible.

  7. Yes, twisting is a HUGE no-no, my friend. I remember that when I broke my back. Try not to overdo it, Connie...as you will pay the price in your recovery. Still praying for you! ~Andrea xoxo

  8. Glad you are managing and doing okay. Sadie probably realizes something is different. Dogs and cats usually do. Allie knows something isn't right with me, too, this week. They are such a comfort and blessing. :)

  10. Sadie and grands and great-grands are the BEST medicine. I think that dog believes you are her owner. I'm glad the pain is being managed and hope the days get better with each one that passes by.
    Blessings and (gentle) hugs,
    Betsy

  12. I have read every day's update but am just now responding - - had some stuff going on. I am so thankful the surgery is behind you and that Jen is keeping an eye on you. You will be better able to rest without even doing any cooking. That will make your recovery go quicker. She can help take care of her dad, too, so you don't have to worry about anything. Very thankful for all this information. You are correct about ice - - - it is about better than drugs and with no digestive side effects.
Did the doctor also tell you that you can't jump on a trampoline or ride a horse? A couple of decades ago, my sister's doctor told her that when she had an impinged nerve released or moved. She flatly told him she didn't own a trampoline.
Continuing to pray you don't inadvertently move incorrectly. It's hard not to do natural things like that though.
